Women in Games Awards – Educational Impact Winners

Picture this. September 25th 2025. London. A gathering of many of the most talented women in the UK games industry. A 360 camera, networking for people, hundreds of nice people in the same place all to celebrate the Women in Games Awards. Then a surprise!

Joanne Muckley won the Educational Impact award for her work with under-privileged and diverse young people to improve their opportunities within the games world. This involves working with BAFTA, BAFTA’s YGD (Young Game Designer) initiative, Ukie, and Ukie’s Digital Schoolhouse programme as well as outside elements like Into Games, young people’s groups like Scouts, and individual educational establishments too.

“I’m still surprised now and thank you so much to the judging panel for recognising this work”, Joanne Muckley, Community and Educational Liaison Officer for Code Wizards Group.

“As an industry we want to pay things forwards and help others. This is an amazing thank you to Jo and the whole team for the work they do”, Martin Thomas, Co-Founder and Principal Engineer, Code Wizards.
